Twins are a blessing in themselves, but these two are just adorable. Cheeky smiles, blond curls and the energy of a football team !!!

Billy and Halley are the best for friends at four years old. They had soooo much fun jumping off the sand dunes, playing tugg o war and chasing bubbles in the breeze. These two are water babies as well so we had them back to the pool at the studio to do some Aqua Kids shots as well. What little ones doesn’t want to be a mermaid or pirate diving for treasure in the afternoon ?

These children’s smiles are infectious & I love the body language between these two as well. We have been able to create some amazing art that will grace this families walls for a life time to come.

Just before this cool snap has hit we had great fun with Melissa’s family. Grandparents, cousins and kids make up this happy family. Every one was very relaxed and had a great time. It was great to see the sense of fun  the whole family had.

After the outdoor shoot with the family the kids came back to the studio and had an aqua shoot in the studio pool. Pirates and mermaids were the order of the afternoon. They swam and dove for treasure. The kids had such a sense of wonderment in their images, to finally be what they pretended to be at home. Just for the afternoon they WERE Pirates and Mermaids and imaginations ran wild. Amazing images to look back on when they grow to be adults and remember that magical afternoon.

Lauralai is an amazing model who comes from Brisbane, and was passing through Port Stephens recently. I have photographed her underwater before and this was a chance to give it another go. Underwater modelling is the most difficult kind of modelling around  - holding breath, posing upside down, water clarity and temperature, hair and clothing movement, special – expensive underwater photography equipment etc.

We tried a few poses in our studio pool in Anna Bay with different backdrops and outfits. We then hiked to a secret rock-pool in Tomaree National Park that is very difficult to get to…..but worth the effort. Have a look at some of the images I got there. I love creating ART, thanks Laura! Brent

Ashlea is a local Allegria Dance Co. dancer, and wanted to get a couple of underwater dancing images. I love shooting movement and people that are good at what they do. Underwater photography adds a whole new dimension to posing, and this proved a lot more difficult than Ash expected. After a while she started to get the hang of it and we ended up with some stunning images. Well done Ash…..its hard work.

I have always wanted to visit and photograph tropical north queensland in australia and the great barrier reef.

We had family from the usa visiting us, and we had all been working really hard recently with spring weddings and portraits on the beach. This was the perfect time for a quick break up north.

Unfortunately, Cairns and Port Douglas have only had 10% of the average rainfall for this time of the year. This means that the rainforest is not wet, and some of the streams have dried up. I really wanted to capture the running water and moss on the rocks. I did manage to get to Mossman Gorge and photographed this awesome area. The river and gorge are surrounded by rainforests and I was lucky to photograph on an overcast day, that way I could get the “milky water effect” using a slow shutter speed.

The day we went to the barrier reef was one I will never forget. 1.5 hour trip out to the reef from Port Douglas (50km out to sea) was a bit rough with 20 knot winds, but once we got there I realised it was totally worth the ride. The reef looks so unbelieveable from the boat, and even better once we were underwater.
