Well the months have flipped past and I have had the pleasure of working with so many beautiful families, it was finally my turn. My husband’s beautiful children Ryan and Sarah were visiting with us for a long weekend. Brent kindly offered to do our family shoot and I was thrilled.
I was watching my Husband and the kids horsing around on the beach, I was keenly watching Brent as well and it hit me like a bolt of lightening, this was a precious memory in the making. Not something that would be forgotten. This is a thumb print of a family, my family. I choked back the tears and started laughing again as Ryan tried to push his dad in the water.
Our BIGGEST thank you to Brent, the happiness that is generated by your amazing talent is boundless, I feel so blessed that we have been able to have Brent capture our family.
Jason and I shed many tears of joy when we saw the amazing images and happily planned on where we are going to display the images in our home, we are also going to put an album together for the kids. We are like many families that don’t live together on a full time basis, but we have the love of the children in our hearts, we have plenty of phone calls and emails each week and now these beautiful images that will grace our walls.
Now I know Ryan and Sarah had a ball and Brent made it great fun, but in years to come when the kids are older they will have these beautiful images to look back on. My own father is very ill now and I just wished had a little window into my past, happy days running on the beach with my Dad, but sadly not. Life just gets so busy and sometimes we need to just stop and think about the future and I am so glad we shared this wonderful experience, hope you enjoy these photos of my family.
Harlan and Claire live very busy lives. They moved to Australia from the UK a few years ago. They love the beach lifestyle, especially here in Port Stephens. We planned to show off their lifestyle with a shoot on zenith beach, near Tomaree Headland.
I managed to interview Harland and Claire lately. Interesting to find out what the images mean to them. Thanks guys for being so honest with me during the interview…..Brent
Just before this cool snap has hit we had great fun with Melissa’s family. Grandparents, cousins and kids make up this happy family. Every one was very relaxed and had a great time. It was great to see the sense of fun the whole family had.
After the outdoor shoot with the family the kids came back to the studio and had an aqua shoot in the studio pool. Pirates and mermaids were the order of the afternoon. They swam and dove for treasure. The kids had such a sense of wonderment in their images, to finally be what they pretended to be at home. Just for the afternoon they WERE Pirates and Mermaids and imaginations ran wild. Amazing images to look back on when they grow to be adults and remember that magical afternoon.
This sweet family we recently photographed at Shoal Bay was a joy to work with. The children played beautifully together and the bond between brother and sister was very evident even at this young age.
Brent captured some really tenders moments, my favourite being their hug, when to brother kiss his little sister on the top of head, so precious. Another one of them building sandcastles together. All kids have their moments and we tend the think of the negatives but isn’t it lovely to have these special moment captured.
It is a great opportunity for Mum & Dad to have a shot together as well, usually one of them is behind the camera. So many of our families say “The last nice photo we had together was our wedding day”, it is also lovely for the kids to have a shot of Mum and Dad together.
WOW what a busy week we have had at the studio, it’s been a hive activity as Brent has been very busy behind the camera creating beautiful works of art for many families.
Recently we were asked to shoot the Dews family, this was a very special photo shoot, a book mark in their family history. I think there is nothing more precious than the love a child, the joy they bring and the boundless love. A family network is vital for any child to thrive, the Dews family have a very special bond.
The Dews family are facing a challenge of ill health at the moment and we wish them the strength, positivity and love with the journey ahead of them from the whole team at Capture Imaging.
Remember the beautiful image of Renee… the stunning bride, that Brent was considering entering into the AIPP awards last week ? Well Renee & Darren have contacted us with some exciting news.
Darren and Renee, are monthly finalists in Bride to Be magazine’s ‘Bride of the Year’ competition, where they have named Capture Imaging as one of our favourite suppliers.
We are thrilled for them and naturally we have voted for them here at the Studio as our favourite couple. We enjoyed browsing all the other beautiful brides & grooms and their wedding photos too but I think we are a little bias here at Capture Imaging with good reason too. So feel free to vote and comments are always welcome. We wish them the best of luck and we will keep you all posted.
Please let us know if you ever need a reference, we are great fans of your work and look forward to working with you in the future to capture many more of life’s special moments.

Brittney Mason was runner up in Miss Surfest Model Competition. Brittney had a shoot Brent a year ago and came in for another session. In twelve moths we certainly noticed how Britt’s confidence has bloomed.
In the planning meetign we went through Britt’s last shoot and had a look at those amazing images. She is such a beautiful girl and such an infectious smile. She explained to me how in all her photos she was smiling, she want to be creative this time, a little bit more edgy, more attitude and less smiles.
We had our Make up artist, Kim from Blush Brides join us in the studio where she did an amazing transformation on Britt, smokey sultry eyes with just a hint of color on her lips.
Brent did the first half of the shoot in the studio. He had Britt pose on the swing which always makes for a beautiful shot, we tied some color balloons on the swing. Lots of smiles and some amazing images captured.
Brent then decided to venture into the great outdoors. We are so lucky with the location of the studio that only minutes away are some really cool natural back drops, the dunes, the beaches and the bush.
Tommaree Headland at the world war II gun emplacements is a perfect back drop. Weathered metal doors welded shut, the graffiti of reckless youths, place gorgeous Britt in the middle and with Brent’s magic….pure art.
Over the weekend a large swell hit our beaches, from One mile beach, to box beach, the surf was pumping. After experiencing the force of the waves first hand at one mile, I packed in my camera gear and headed for box beach, where the wave becomes super hollow and is closer to the beach for shooting.
Got there on Sunday morning, the parking lot was full. I passed a few surfers walking off the beach with broken boards. Even thought the surf had dropped in size from the day before, there was still a lot of action to be had in the water. Below are a few images I shot of surfers and body boarders having the time of their lives. Enjoy. Brent
Last weekend the Nelson Bay Hash House Harriers (running group) had a weekend away at Riverwood Downs, between Dungog and Gloucester. We arrived on Saturday afternoon (had a few shoots in the morning) just in time for the main run. Luckily someone had to make sure the fire was OK and watch all the kids….ME. Only 1 injured kid after an hour – no one will ask me again;)
Took some timelapse images and made this movie. I also had a chance to try out my new slider, last two scenes in the movie. Make sure you watch it in high definition…..worth it.
Great weekend away with some crazy people. I did get a few rural/farm landscapes too on the Sunday morning, before the mist dissipated. Check out the images below.
